Yabin Lu, Founder and CEO
Yabin has nearly two decades of experience in the molecular diagnostics industry. Prior to founding Anchor Molecular, he lead the R&D catalog product development team for the Molecular Control Business Unit of Clinical Diagnostics Division at AcroMetrix Thermo Fisher Scientific. His work focused on engineering molecular controls for viral load and oncology. Prior to AcroMetrix, he worked at Bio-Rad Laboratories for 14 years. He served as the lead assay development scientist for numerous IVD assay programs including one for HbA1c and other hemoglobin variants. Most notably, he headed the 510K launches for two major IVD assays – Celiac IgA/IgG Multiplexed Immunoassay in 2013 and TORC IgM multiplexed Immunoassay in 2016. He received his Ph.D in Microbiology from Duke University. He did his postdoctoral work on gene therapy at Stanford University.
Donghua (Jerry) Cao, VP, Commercial Operations
Mr. Jerry Cao has brought us almost 20 years experience in two different fields. Before taking the commercial role from 2008, Jerry had seven years solid experience in R&D. Except for his prior experience with Chinese Academy of Science in Beijing, Jerry worked as microbiologist with Eli Lilly and Company, primarily focus on bioprocess R&D. After that, he conducted three years research on breast cancer at School of Medicine, Indiana University. Jerry then took different commercial roles (Director of Products and Marketing, Investment project manager) oversea for two years, working in both the life science reagents sales and financial service industry. Upon returning to the US in 2010, he continued to work in the financial service industry while getting higher education in finance. His last job prior to joining Anchor Molecular was the Manager, Asia and Pacific Commercial Operations with Asuragen Inc.. With his strong international marketing capability, he was able to achieve a 40% CAGR in revenue over a five-year period in his region. Jerry has two Master degrees in two distinct fields in the US: food science and pharmacology. Also Jerry had a chemical engineering background plus graduate level education in finance from McCombs Business School.
